Welcome to the Young Film and Culture Association (YFCA). Founded in 2023 in Florence by Chinese and Italian young filmmakers, the YFCA aims to enhance cultural exchange between China and Italy through the medium of film.
Our core objective is to establish a communication bridge between young Chinese filmmakers and Italian film festivals, while enriching the film-viewing activities within the Italian Chinese community, including overseas Chinese, students, and film enthusiasts.
Since our inception, the YFCA has focused on three key areas of film activities: Urban Culture, International Perspectives, and Cinematic Lifestyle.
As advocates for Sino-Italian film and cultural exchange, we continually innovate and seek development in this field. We sincerely invite you to join us in promoting the exchange and prosperity of film culture.

YOUNG FILM AND CULTURE ASSOCIATION
SUBMISSIONS
Over the years, young Chinese filmmakers have wielded determination and creativity to create awe-inspiring works of art. Unfortunately, due to language barriers and limitations in information dissemination, these brilliant creations have been unable to transcend borders and be shared with film enthusiasts worldwide. Europe, a continent where languages and cultures merge, also serves as a hub for film festivals. In Italy, a land rich in history and cultural heritage, film festivals have sprouted up like mushrooms after the rain. The Venice Film Festival, renowned for its long history and profound influence, is widely recognized, while other festivals are known for their love and inclusivity towards diverse films.
As the founders of the Young Film and Culture Association (YFCA), we have lived and worked in Italy for a significant period, witnessing firsthand the blossoming of works by young filmmakers from around the world. This rich diversity has prompted deep reflection: Why do we rarely see the presence of young Chinese filmmakers in these events? This question has driven us to think deeply and ultimately become the catalyst for establishing YFCA. We believe that young Chinese filmmakers possess immense talent and boundless potential. Their works should not be limited solely by language and geographical constraints, but should receive wider attention and appreciation.
Therefore, we are dedicated to establishing a platform that provides opportunities for young Chinese filmmakers to showcase and exchange their works. We aspire to build a bridge that connects China and the world, allowing these creations to transcend language and cultural barriers, enabling audiences worldwide to appreciate their talent and creativity. We believe that with sincere and diligent efforts, this dream can become a reality. We invite the world to witness the growth of young Chinese filmmakers and share in the contributions they make to the art of cinema.
The Young Film and Culture Association (YFCA) warmly welcomes young Chinese-speaking filmmakers, young teachers, film institute students, and others from around the world to participate in our film submission activity. YFCA is a non-profit cultural association (APS) committed to promoting and supporting the works of young directors. We emphasize that this recruitment activity is completely free of charge, with no fees involved.
Eligibility: This film submission is open to young filmmakers, young teachers, and film institute students in the global Chinese-speaking regions.
Submission Scope: There are no restrictions on film genre, subject matter, or duration. We welcome various forms of works, including but not limited to experimental films, documentaries, narrative films, and animations.
Selection Process: Submitted films will undergo initial evaluation. For selected works, we will establish contact with the creators and, with further copyright permissions (such as distribution rights and translation rights), the association will undertake the translation of Italian subtitles at no cost. After this stage, the films will be submitted to Italian film festivals and exhibitions for further selection.
By participating in this event, your work will have the opportunity to be showcased on the international stage and gain wider attention. We sincerely invite you to join YFCA in promoting and supporting the creative endeavors of young filmmakers.
Thank you for your support of the Young Film and Culture Association. We look forward to your active participation!
